The Pearson BTEC Level 1/Level 2 Tech Award in Digital Information Technology  is for students who want to acquire technical knowledge and technical skills in ICT. They will study the knowledge, understanding and skills related to data management, data interpretation, data presentation and data protection as part of their Key Stage 4 learning.

The Digital Information Technology Level 2 course provides the skills, knowledge and understanding for Level 2 learners to progress to: 

Possible future careers include ICT practitioner, ICT support, computer repair/maintenance, graphic designer, games developer, animator, administrator, ICT technician, web designer and many more.

Assessment

Students cover three units over the course with a combination of two internal coursework assessments and one external assessment. These give learners the opportunity to develop broad knowledge and understanding of the digital sector and specialist skills and techniques in project planning, designing user interfaces and manipulating and interpreting data at Levels 1 and 2. 

Components 1 and 2 are assessed through internal assessment and component 3 through an external assessment, which builds upon components 1 and 2 and is based upon a real life situation.
