Meden Celebrate after Successful Ofsted Inspection

Meden School are celebrating after receiving the judgement of their recent Ofsted inspection on Wednesday 4th October.

This was the first inspection since the school was judged to be 'Good' back in May 2014 and once again the school was found to be a 'Good' school. Inspectors were very impressed during their visit, which went extremely well and lasted just one day; a clear indication of how well the school is doing.

In the letter received by Ofsted there were many positive comments. Inspectors felt that the "The leadership team has maintained the good quality of education in the school since the last inspection." Since the appointment of the new Head in September 2016 it was felt that Ms Sims has "established a clear vision for the school" and has "also brought about a more aspirational culture" which has lead to there being a "strong ethos of community at Meden School."

Quality of learning was judged to be "consistently good throughout the school. In lessons, teachers have high expectations. They plan tasks that have a high level of challenge and encourage pupils to participate well." It was also felt that "pupils’ attitudes to learning are extremely positive and they want to do well. Teachers provide them with very useful feedback that enables them to improve their work"

It was recognized that whilst it is clear Meden School has high expectations, it is "not complacent about what needs improving," and that the "vast majority of staff, pupils and parents have a positive view about the direction in which the school is heading"
