'Best ever' GCSE outcomes

Students and staff at Meden were celebrating the school’s ‘best ever’ GCSE outcomes this morning.

Chris James, Executive Head Teacher, commented:

“We are absolutely delighted with the outstanding GCSE results at Meden School. Our students have exceeded all expectations and have achieved the best outcomes that Meden School has ever had.

70% of all the students gained at least a grade 4 in both English and Maths. Students have excelled in a wide range of subjects across the curriculum.

The staff at Meden have worked tirelessly and skilfully to support our young people to achieve great things and it is wonderful today to see so many smiling faces from staff, students and their parents.”

Among the high achievers was Tessa Reynolds, who secured two grade 9s and three grade 8s. She said:

“I’m so pleased to have done so well…the 9s are amazing!”

Dominic Evans also collected his results, having achieved no fewer than five grade 8s. Dominic commented:
