Meden Students Honour the Fallen

On Friday 8th November, our students welcomed Bill Power, a local resident and war veteran to help them lay poppies in the grass in front of the school.

Students have spent recent Design & Technology lessons manufacturing the poppies that represent each of the 122 Warsop residents who sadly lost their lives. A purple poppy represented all of the fallen animals lost in conflict.

The students and staff listened in awe whilst Bill read some of his poems about his experiences in the war. bill who suffers from PTSD often struggles to sleep but spend many of his quiet hours, writing poems and taking pictures of the local community.

Thank you Bill for giving up your time and for all those involved in the ceremony. What a wonderfully heartwarming moment.
