Welcome to the Business Department
An aspiration for many young people is to be self-employed and start their own business. The skills required for this, such as being able to work collaboratively and creatively, solve problems and have awareness of businesses and customers, are also those requested by employers. The courses delivered at KS4 and KS5 are full of engaging content with practical learning which will allow students to develop business acumen and enterprise skills. This will allow students to gain the right combination of knowledge, understanding and skills required for the 21st century.
Students will develop transferable skills, such as being able to work collaboratively and creatively, solve problems and have awareness of businesses and customers. The skills and knowledge developed will be useful in a wide range of further qualifications and in applying for further education opportunities and jobs
At KS3, students have the opportunity to participate in our in house Young Enterprise, where they compete against each other to provide the best product for the local community. This activity takes places during enrichment.
